My Family

Tonight was the hardest thing I have ever done.  I said good bye to my son as he left for the United States Marine Corps.  It is a bitter sweet feeling.  I am going to miss him, yet I am so proud of the choice that he has made.  He not only will be my son, he will be my fellow Marine.

I have always been so proud of my son.  He is a fantastic son, a great big brother and then you throw in an award winning quarterback and now a future Marine.  I couldn't have written this script for him.  He now steps forward and makes a decision that less than 1% of the American population (past and present) have ever done, become Marines.

He ships with another young man who I feel is like a son to me as well, Lonnie Baker.  I have coached Lonnie and been around him since he was probably 7 or 8 years old.  He is a fine young man as well and they both will make great Marines.  Marines the Corps will be proud of.  These are the pictures of the day.  I love you son, Semper Fidelis.
